Joseph Edward Thomas Catron, 8th Battalion from Coburg, Victoria. Image courtesy AWM. Image DA15235.
In my last blog entry I noted that Joe Catron and his wife Zoe attended an Anzac Day service at Gallipoli in 1921. I now know that this was the third such ceremony but only the first attended by women.
You can read more about this early Anzac Commemoration on the New Zealand Government's World War One website. On the website you will also find a pdf of the original dispatch relating to the event. The following images were part of that dispatch.
